2020 Cache Lake Drawing

Thursday, October 24, 2019

Eureka Christian Church  (302 S Main Street, Eureka)

Cache Lake, the W. D. Boyce Council's Canadian Outpost Camp in Southwest, Ontario, is one of the greatest gems of the W. D. Boyce Council.   The camp is on the secluded Bach Bay of Sand Point Lake with several buildings including a bunk house that sleeps up to 40 and can be divided into separate areas for co-ed use, a dining hall fully equipped, boat house with fish cleaning facilities, a hot shower and even electricity for refrigeration and lights.  This north woods camp offers endless aquatic program opportunities including boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, sailing, tubing, and more!

There has been changes for until and individual eligibility for the 2020 Cache Lake Camping Season.

There could be 2 drawings at the 2020 Cache Lake Drawing, the first drawing is open to all the Troops and Crews in the W. D. Boyce Council who were not drawn for a Cache Lake spot in 2019.  After the first drawing if there are any remaining available spots for a week or on the alternate list then a second drawing will happen which is open to all the units that were drawn for a 2019 spot.  If there are still any spots open after the second drawing they remaining spots will be offered to Out of Council units that have attended Ingersoll Scout Reservation's Scouts BSA Summer Camp.

Once your unit has a spot, all youth attending must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 13 years old or older. Scouts may attend as a 12 year old, but must be accompanied by a parent on the trip.
  • Must be First Class Rank.
  • Must have attended a week-long Boy Scout of America program at any BSA Resident Camp.

Please RSVP for the drawing to help have accurate numbers for the dinner by registering to the event by clicking the Register button below.

Dinner will be served at 6pm and is provided complimentary for all of our guests.  At 7pm the drawings will start.

For more information about Cache Lake take a look at the Cache Lake webpage here.

Here are some tips on increasing your unit's odds of getting a 2020 Cache Lake Spot:

  • Come to the drawing with a realistic number of scouts and adults that your unit can come to Cache Lake with this coming summer.
  • Find other units to pair up with.  Therefore, each unit gets a number in the drawing, which increases the odds of one of your numbers to be drawn.
  • Remember the Cache Lake fee is for a minimum of 30 people.  So the more people you have during your week, the cheaper the per person cost will be for the trip.
  • The Cache Lake Drawing starts with a dinner at 6pm and the drawing at 7pm.  The dinner is a good way of finding other units to pair up with.
