Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) Training

Is your Pack planning on camping? Who are your trained leaders? Will they be moving on to Boy Scouts in the spring? How many BALOO trained leaders do you have? You need at least ONE BALOO trained leader to take your Pack camping. TWO is better and THREE is even better! Please be sure to take the BALOO prerequisite course on my.scouting before attending.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) Training

Scouting's outdoor program is a critical part of how the Scouts BSA program develops young leaders. While camping or participating in other outdoor events, your Scouts will challenge themselves to learn skills they've never tried before or maybe didn't think they could do. In doing so, your Scouts will work together as a team to overcome adversity when things don't go as planned; this is truly the magic of Scouting that no other program does as well. To safely offer Scouting's outdoor program, however, leaders need a certain set of skills and knowledge.

Registration for Crossroads District IOLS training is open. Click HERE to register.

Youth Protection Training

The safety and well-being of our youth is of paramount importance to our organization, and integral to everything we do. We must continue our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment at all times for all our youth members. All adult leaders and any adult eighteen years old or older and participating in a campout lasting 72 hours or more are required to complete BSA Youth Protection training every two years.

Access My.scouting.org to complete your Youth Protection training today.

Roundtable

Roundtables provide leaders with program ideas, information on policy, events and training opportunities. It is a forum for sharing experiences and enjoying fun and fellowship with other leaders. The Roundtable experience will Energize, Motivate and Enable Unit Leaders to provide a stronger program to their scouts.

Roundtable occurs on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM. Watch our Facebook page and emails for locations and topics.

District Committee Meetings

The District Committee coordinates all functions for Crossroads District. Whether hosting the Council Camporee, putting together the Klondike and Yukon, or helping Units fulfill the requirements of the National Scouting Organization, the District Committee is there to help. If you have a passion to lead, or just want to help, join us at our next meeting.

District Committee meetings occur on the 1st Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM. Watch our emails for locations.

Woodbadge - Leadership for Scouting

Wood Badge is the advanced leadership training in the BSA Training Continuum. It is for registered adults in all areas of Scouting: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing, Commissioners, District, and Council. The only requirements are basic training for your registered position and the desire to learn and have fun.

The course is designed to help you become the best leader you can be -- at home, at church, in your community, at work, and, of course, in Scouting. You will gain skills you can use your entire life. We expect the best from our Scouts and they have the right to expect the same from us. Your Scouts need your help now to become the leaders of tomorrow. Wood Badge is a great way to ensure that you are ready to show them the way.

Registration for the next course is now open! Click HERE to start your leadership journey.
