Sweet Corn Blues Festival

Over 50,000 ears of fresh sweet corn, sidewalk sales, arts, crafts, and flea market vendors await you on the streets of Uptown! Come out and enjoy the fun, food and some of the best blues music around. The festival is held over two days in late August and is a great way to welcome back the students at Illinois State University.

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Ventures, Girl Scouts all are welcome to participate

Volunteers are needed to help shuck corn for the annual corn fest.  Scouts should wear old shoes and a scout t shirt that can get dirty.  (rain or shine the event will still take place)

Contact Bob Clark (309) 825-8232 or bob.clark@mcleancountyil.gov for additional volunteer information.

Times to start and finish are based on when the corn arrives and when the pile is gone.

Scouts earn a patch, free sweet corn and a free soda for volunteering to help out, Boy Scouts can earn community service hours for working.
