The W. D. Boyce Council Centennial Camporee


MAJOR SCOUTING EVENT -- For ALL Scouts of ALL ages!

The Boy Scouts of America, established in 1910, is celebrating it's 100th Anniversary throughout 2010.  Through the years, over 112 million youth have been scouts, with a major positive impact on American life. We, at the W. D. Boyce Council, the Home of the Founder, are celebrating the founding of Scouting in America with a major council camporee chock-full of activities for Scouts and Scout families from across Illinois. 

GREAT Camping at Comlara Park on beautiful Evergreen Lake!

The Centennial Camporee will be held Friday through Sunday, October 1-3, 2010 at Comlara Park in Hudson, IL.  Registration will open from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 1. The Centennial Camporee will close at noon on Sunday, October 3rd.

ACTIVITIES

A spectacular, "once-in-a-scout's-career" program is planned for the 2010 Centennial Camporee.

The Centennial Camporee program features:

FUN EVENTS!
Join us for the the 5K race, soccer matches, boating on Evergreen Lake, Frisbee football and the ultimate tug-of-war tournament!

SCOUT STUFF!
Geocaching and orienteering, archery range for all levels, mountain biking, bb guns and .22 rifle ranges, wall climbing, tree climbing, fishing, and canoe races!  These are just some of the great Scouting activities!  There will also be a Scout history museum...Sea Scout exhibit...service project opportunities...advancement opportunities including the chance to earn the "Historic Merit Badges" available only in the centennial year!

OTHER SPECIAL STUFF!
Displays and exhibits... food and other vendors including special displays by Cabelas, Gander Mountain, and Bass Pro Shop.  And you certainly won't want to miss the Civil War reenactors. 

ENTERTAINMENT!
Night shows with live music and comedy!  Special guest YouTube "Evolution of Dance" comedy star Juduson Laipply.  And who doesn't want to meet Miss Illinois 2010, Whitney Thorpe Klinsky?!

Registration for the 2010 Council Centennial Camporee is now OPEN!

Early Bird cost is $15 per person if registered before September 3. This fee includes camping, all on-site program activities, Friday and Saturday night entertainment, and Centennial Camporee patch.

Early Bird deadline is September 3, 2010. Registrations received after this date, if space is still available, will be charged at the regular fee of $20 per person. Registration prior to September 3 allows for ample time to coordinate final preparations for the event.
